授業の目的?内容 ／Course Objectives	This course will be conducted IN PERSON. Being in class will be much more useful and successful toward learning English and more enjoyable Please use Manaba "Course News" (under "Courses") to get a updated description of the course. This one-term required class allows second-year students the opportunity to take the initiative and be directly involved in their own learning, as well as the learning of their classmates, by preparing their own presentation and leading subsequent class discussion based on the chosen topic. Overall Objectives 1. To foster student responsibility by involving students more directly in the learning process 2. To teach students how to prepare presentations 3. To give all students the opportunity to give a presentation and lead class discussion
授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	Use of handouts, textbook and short lectures, including student activities. Students will write journals in order to improve their writing skills. It is encouraged that students bring their laptop computers to class as some homework assignments and email from teacher can be used online. This will improve the overall quality of the class time. When students are given various types of assignments during the course, feedback or criticism will be provided by offering general comments to the entire class when positive or negative patterns among students can be detected; consultations with individual students after important assignments for brief critique; written comments from the teacher on the paper either by email or on hard copy written by hand. If students have questions about their grade they are always free to enquire with the teacher.
事前?事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	Please apportion your weekly homework tasks according to a 100 minute timetable. Carefully read the instructed portion of the textbook beforehand and make a note of important details. Read the specified portion of the assignment or textbook as preparation for each class, and be aware of the meaning of any specialized terminology. As review for each class, reread any parts of the assignment tha you had difficulty with and ask your peers or the teacher for help when needed without hesitation.
